09 Jul 2009: The second L.A.B., European Trade Fair and Conference for Analysis, Bio and Laboratory Equipment, will be held in 2011. Leipziger Messe (Germany) has announced the cancellation of the event for 2009. This decision has been taken in agreement with the trade fair's advisory supporters, the German industrial Association SPECTARIS, the English association GAMBICA and the French cooperative association Fabrilabo.

Critical Process Control – Online Analysis of Silicate in Boiler Feed Waters using the Metrohm 811 Online IC Process Analyser
 22 Jun 2009: Boiler and cooling tower scale is expensive to control and is caused by impurities precipitating out of the water on heat transfer surfaces or suspended solids in the water settling out on the metal and becoming hard. The presence of scale caused by silicates can cause overheating and failure of boiler tubes. If no action is taken then corrosion may occur underneath the boiler scale which reduces the operating efficiency, cause thermal damage, and enforce unscheduled down time of the plant.

Upfront Chromatography Licenses Use of EBA Technology to Cangene
17 Jun 2009: Upfront Chromatography A/S, has signed a licensing agreement with Cangene Corporation, which provides Cangene with the rights to use Upfront´s Rhobust® 2nd Generation Expanded Bed Adsorption (EBA) for the production of therapeutic human antibody products from human plasma. This is the next step in a collaboration between the two companies to develop a new high-yield process for purifying human antibodies directly from blood plasma.
